Many users here have signatures that are insanely tall and make it difficult to read the forum. Some signatures are 3-5x as tall as many of their posts and can EASIALLY be condensed to at least half that size via cropping of a picture or removing plain white space. I have a rather high-resolution display (1600x1200) and I don’t have TOO much of a problem with it personally. But when I view these forums on the most common resolution out on the internet (1024x768) or on a public computer at my college, it becomes rather difficult and frustrating to wade through the static.
I propose a limit of 350 vertical pixels. That should be PLENTY enough to get everyone's messages across... especially since it's shown in every single post. If you think about it, 350's a rather large amount of space considering the amount of 2-3 line posts that are made here. I really dislike limits such as these on a community website, but some signatures simply abuse this freedom to where it becomes borderline obnoxious. So I am simply asking for a loose enforcement within a max of 350 vertical pixels or some other reasonable figure for everybody’s signature.
e36_m3_Turbo's is perfectly fine in my opinion. Distictive, so you can just read the post and gather from your periphieral vision that it is your post without glancing over to find your name.
woobiee, yours is 400 pixles tall. if I were you, I'd remove that whitespace, and remove the link to your website, because you already have the WWW link to your site silly! :P oh BTW, for asthetics, I'd move those 3 lines of text telling what cars you have under the two images, where it would be more noticeable and not blend in with that line of dashes... Pimp those cars! But that's just me and I'm a low-level OC perfectionist about certain things.
excellent guys, thanks. I was mainly refering to the obnoxiously large signatures in my origional post
Now if bimmerfan620 and a few others would come in here...

I took out the pic in my sig. It just seemed to take up too much space, especially when I posted several times to the same topic. I made my avatar a small, stylized pic of my ride.
I personally dont like images in sigs at all. I know that i have never or will ever put a image in mine. Ill stick to some cool color font scheme and something inanely witty.
