maybe have a 'BMW P/N Vault" a few of use have the ETK which we can respond to the part# requests and maybe even provide suggested retail prices on the parts requested?

Awesome Idea maybe a TIS vault forum category or tech manual category would be cool too (for those of us who have the TIS/ETK/Tech manuals you know who you are)...
MUAHHAHAHAHAHHA

if this new section does get created, we should have some guidelines on part # thread topics to help people narrow down their browsing
something like
"need part # for: 2001 540i, icv sensor"
or
"need part # for: 1998 328i, brake light switch"
or just
"1998 328i, brake light switch"
...something where the year, model, and part appear in the thread title so others browsing the section can quickly see if it is a similar part they need.
this might also help distinguish general chat & info type threads from specific part # threads.
A thought - if the manuals, or places you are getting the part numbers, are soft copy, would it be possible to create a user searchable database? Essentially some sort of Flash (or something) program that the members (and only members) can click on, input their criteria and get a part number returned to them? I know it seems like a lot of work (or maybe not) but in the end it would cut down drastically on reposts, BS posts in the vault, and the like.

Damn. I'm guessing then that there is no way to import that data. Oh well

I could just edit the titles afterwards so it wasn't redundant..
