The words in green, underlined, are highlighted by a sponsor who helps keep the boards free.

Key words are detected by the sponsor. When your cursor comes across one of these words a small window will open that offers you the opportunity to click on the sponsors' website, if you so desire.

These are not created by members. Please do not report them.

If you have any comments, just post them here.

Cheers,
Paulyboy

I understand and accept that they are here.

I don't like them but I know why they are here and there for I am OK with them. This is a great forum as long as I'm not getting popups and crap I will keep comin back for more.

I don't mind the links at all. As 007Ben said, as long as there is no popups... well even if there is (a popup blocker is magic) I will be coming back to this site.

they add a slight delay when logging in or changing screens that's kinda irritating. Oh well...

Yep, we are talking to them about this. If it gets too bad, we will review the links.

Of course they're acceptable, as all sites need a way to support themselves, but they are a pain, mainly for the reason Silver mentioned. If you're going to toss ads at someone, you should at least do the tossing yourself. In other words, right now, not only are you serving ads, but all the heavy searching, highlighting, and ad attachement is done client-side, via JS. If you're going to reap the benefits of the ads, you should also take the added load associated with generating them.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

BTW, shouldn't this thread be in Site Talk, just like the other thread about recent changes (I also happened to mention the ads in that thread, but I don't think anyone knew what I was talking about since I referred to them by name).
