The display button that posts a Fast Reply is marked "add reply". IMO, it should read "Post Reply" because there is an Add Reply button used for the regular posting process that creates a post, not adds one.
fast reply is faster and doesnt change the whole screen and doesnt have the nifty buttons for urls/colors and stuff. fast reply and add reply do do the same things. just a little diffrently.
Please reread my previous post. I'm not asking for an explanation of Fast Reply.
I know what it means! Duh.
I'm pointing out that the button that posts a Fast Reply is marked "Add Reply".
they do extactly what tehy are supposed to for me.
fast just pops up the little box at the bottom of the screen
add reply changes screen with all the other stuff.
i find the fast reply system very efficient. i sort of understand what you are saying, but to change it is not needed. i use fast reply all the time and am currently using it for this post.
simply click fast reply, add your comments to the field provided. and click add reply located BELOW the comment field.
Here's a print screen of what I am refering to. It will be a lot clearer.
As a software designer, one NEVER puts two buttons close to each other with the same name that do different tasks.
The bottom one should read "Post Fast Reply".
Also, when a new topic is started, the button to post the info is marked "post new topic", not "add new topic".
So after you click Fast Reply or Add Reply, the button to post your reply should read "Post Reply" to be consistent with the "Post new topic" button.
I did software design for 25 years so please refrain from telling me that everything is okay.
If you don't understand software design, then say so. If you don't want to make any changes because you don't want to, say that or if you can't make changes due to software limitations, say that.
Beliefs are kinda of a funny thing. I used to believe in Santa Claus.
While it may be true that few are having a problem with it, people normalize just about anything. It doesn't mean that it shouldn't be changed as the goal of every software designer is clarity, ease of use, consistency and perfection (as close as one can get).
Just like our bimmer friends polish their car to near perfection, the same attitude applies toward programming.

Warning?
Would you please explain the basis for your warning in detail.
It seems that I'm being punished as you would a little kid because you're angry for some perceived personal insult for which none was intended.
It also appears that when I point things out the need improvement on the board you get defensive. I'll try to word my replies better in the future but I would like you to be more specific so how I can learn to improve and understand what is normal to you.
listen you got a problem with the way the board is run or handled you can talk to me in private. i take it as an insult because you cant talk to me in a civil way. im trying my best to help all of you members, and i dont get paid to do so. i have my own life and last thing i need to do is deal with people like yourself trying to shave me down a notch.
