Sounds like a good idea, and would allow us to free up some OT space because we wouldnt have to just post something random..
I think an integrated Members Only Chat would be good.
We could have different rooms also, for those who need:
Instant Tech Help
Offtopic Chat
Media Help(iehotoshop, web etc..comp help)
I think thats a great idea, and if we had different rooms for specific reasons i think itd work out awesome.

You can do it for free with AIM. celica.net did it for a while, they some how reserved the room name... but there was no control over who could or couldn't be in there. Would be really cool though... perhpas there is a good non-aim free way to do it?
dude. .. not everyone has aim or is willing to install it... plus, its hard to track which screenname is who. here it would just log u in under your forum username
There's a plugin that we can put onto the toolbar, but we figured it'd move the focus away from the forum, where everyone can read the questions/answers and help or be helped.
IRC is cool, but there's the same problems as those that torque and my self mentioned. But I guess we could password protect the IRC channel, but then the same place where you would find the channel, you would also find the password... Eitherway, I think the chat would be good/fun. Perhaps not make it for technical help, but more of a hangout/off-toppic/place-to-throw-ideas-around... Sounds good to me.
