BMW production question

hi guys, i need a little bit of help figuring this out... what is the difference between an M car and it's normal version. like 3 series and M3 or 6 series and M6

i looked at some pics and they both look the same, but apparently one is produced in BMW AG and the other in BMW M but the M one is almost 20000 bucks more... but for what??! thanks people

Uhm you can go onto the BMW official web site and look at the spec. diff. between the two. Basically the M version is a High Performance sport edition, upgraded enigine, suspension, sportier interior w/ more options. Examples of others like this Chevy's SS, FORD SVT, Dodge SRT, Toyota TRD, Honda Si, MazdaSpeed, Nissan Nismo, Mercedes AMG, Audi "S"..and so on and so forth.

If I had an option, I'd have an M.

They're pretty damn different actually. Not a lot is shared between the M models and their non-M sister cars.
