Hi there – this may be of interest to your club and forums members. We have teamed up with BMW NZ to find out what the Most Desirable BMW Ever is. We have set up a voting engine to allow users to run through 32 models. We would love to get truly global input to this exercise and hope that your members want to have their say.

Um, three way tie between E39 ///M5, Classic Z1 Roadster and E46 ///M3 S3-R vert...each has it own supremacy in its own category! Decisions decisions decisions...

Honorable mention - 2002, Z3 ///M Roadster (S54 engine), the forever classic E30 (no Bimmer list could ever be complete without mention of the mighty 2002 and the E30 which really started it all), that lovely E31 twin turbo 8-series, the penultimate E38, and of course the ///M6 Vert.

Too many listed?? Well that's 'cause there are just too many fabulous Bimmers out there. I think like athletes, perhaps they need be judged against those of their own time, other than the timeless, industry changing cars like the 2002 or the E30 or the E39 M5, which might more objectively be on the list rather than just a subjective favorite.

Amazing cars all!

I'd love to have a black Z4 3.0si coupe with double white racing stripes on it
and a blue metallic Alpina B5S

just got my test result
it was sooo hard to choose between the e30 M3 and the e46 CSL...
my champion is: Z4 M Coupe!!!!!!!!

I must amend as well as add to my earlier posting. When I said Z1 (which I really like too mind you) - I actually meant the 507 Roadster - just a total WOW car!!!

And in doing the head to head, my champion was the E39 M5 over the E46 M3 CSL, only because the E46 was not a vert and if it aint a vert only one car is the true master of all she surveys - and that is, clearly, the E39 M5! The mightiest of them all! And hey, my top 5 were all awesome! Whew, that 507 takes your breath away! But their is only one E39 M5 - greatest sport sedan evar! (Sheesh, some list where teh Z Roadster doesn't make the top 5! :cool
