I heard through the grapevine that they aren't making an e90 m3. Instead it is going to be a seperate model altogether - the e91 m3.
Did I hear wrong? Did I miss other posts about this on this board? Does anyone have any other information about this? This is a both a disturbing and welcome trend. Disturbing in that it kind of defies the "sleeper" image of the ///m's, but welcome in that I don't think the e90 body is very suiting for the look ///m (too ... well... soft).
Is it going to be a large difference? Small? Anyone? Bueller?
Like I said, it's just hearsay - but a reliable source. Of course, things can change, but I can assure you it's at least in the "thought process" if not the actual manufacturing process.
Yeah, I heard about that - this is more or less closer to the same realm as the renumbering of the series (1, 3 coupe; 2, 4 sedan). Palpable, but not quite tangible.
its all going to be e90 M3. The numbering wont change as the eXX always refers to a chasis numbers, which isnt goign to change in a generation fo a 3 series.
What was considered was rturning to the old BMW system of even number SERIES being coupes and odd numbered series being saloons. They seem to be moving in that general direction but due to the love and popularity of the 3 series I believe they decided it wasnt good for marketing the next generation.
