Thumbs up

Im "in the market" for a BMW, but i know very little as far as pricing, engine specs, and basically what a good bimmer would be to own for everyday commuting. I used to own a 91 Acura Integra, but i felt the need for a 6 cyl, RWD, and a car not known for rice. I'm looking to spend around 10k or 12k , and i want a car that looks good from the factory ( this i know is what BMw's are known for) any help in finding a good BMW to look at would be greatly appreciated. thanks- Rich

the e36 is probably your best bet. its a pretty modern style and you can afford to get one with lower mileage

i'm thinking of doing the same thing as you except maybe with a grand or so more and probably after this summer. i've been doing reserach for a while, and here's waht it comes down to..

1. Get either an E36 or an E46. In my area, you could get an E36 with lower mileage (say 75k? not sure) or an E46 with higher mileage (100-120k) all for about $12k. Great sites to do research for all of this are www.edmunds.com, www.cars.com, and www.autotrader.com

2. Make sure a BMW is what you want. It wont handle in the snow as well as an A4, and the seats in the back dont fold on most cars. That might seem trivial but if you plan to go skiing iwth this car a lot, it's something ot keep in mind.

3. Get the E46. It might have higher miles, but it's way better looking in my opinion. You can get lots of good pictures at www.cardomain.com

4. The "new look" of the BMW is the E46, just to clear that up. BMW started doing that with the 323/8 in 1999 but only with the sedans, the coupe that year was still old fashioned? Anyway, just keept hat in mind if you're thinking of going coupe and plan on getting the "new look"

fold down seats is an option, mine has it and its pretty common among all bmw's as well, also, handling depends mainly on the driver

i would recomend somthing around a 96 328i coupe or sedan. this seems to be a very good model in general, and can be had for that price

First of all, how much do you have to spend? Have you ever driven RWD? Are you aware that the man makes the rice? The rice is not begot from the thinness of the air but from the solidity that is man?
