I am interested in seeing how the new M5 stacks up against the RS6 and the E55 AMG. Both cars have more torque, but the M5 has the advatnage of being N/A which will give it quicker throttle response, and BMW will prolly gear it very aggresively. I expect it outhandle both of course=)

Remember the new corvette has 390 ft/lbs of torque.... (and only 400 hp.)

your right about the gearing. 7 close ratio gears being shifted by an enhanced SMG at 8300rpm. i'm not sure what the exact hp figures are for the rs6 and the e55, but i'm sure that m5 is very competitive if not better than the two in its power to weight ratio. keep in mind that you dont need gobs of tq to get good performance; look at the 360 modena: 400hp, 275lb-ft.
