Yeah that is alot. too many miles and almost 15 years old for $6,000.
Plus modded out cars should always be cheaper than an untouched BMMR! Unless it's performance mods and not just cheap new lights and dark tints w/ after market rims.
I got my 1995 318i w/ a few miles over 100,000 for $5500 at the NJ state auction.
However, the BMW dealership raped me for $2500 in maintenance fees and new parts (like break pads $300, Air bag relay switch $400, Air mass meter $480, Cleaning fees $200, ignition lock/new keys $600, etc...)

ghead
Plus registration fees and tax fees in NYC were like $700+,

(not to mention insurance for a 25 year old male w/ a Brooklyn address

)
Plus I upgraded my rims and tires ($400), New Armrest ($200), plus extra little things like tune up, basic car supplies, Extended warranty, Prestige Remote Alarm system, ($1000+)
So before you buy think about what extras you'll have to pay just to drive that car off the lot unless your parents can help you out.
After it all I'm very please with my car. Had I bought a Honda or Toyota

, I would've been miserable everyday I had to drive one of those boxes to work!!!
BMW is worth every red cent. Plus Had I discoverd this forum and all the DIY link. I would have saved $2000 at BMW alone. Not to mention all the money I'ved saved doing stuff myself. Also EBAY is risky but I got my rims and tires brand new for $400. Plus I also got some other good deals there for simple upgrade parts (armrest, dash lights, wooden shift stick, M3 mats, chrome tail pipe tip).
In other words dude, go to an auction or elsewhere cause $6000 is way too much for a 92.
