This is true, not a couple months after the announcement of the ///m6 (which utilizes the MS S62, which all of you know, I'm sure, is the v10 500hp 382torque engine applied in the e60 ///m5), bmw announced it was working on a convertible version of the evil ///m6.
Keep in mind, although it is still a trackworthy car (it IS an ///m) it seems that it's performance and styling seem to be geared more towards touring than tracking. Or so I'm told. I would still get this car. I really like the look, personally, but I also like the current 6-series look as well.
I don't remember where I read it, but one of my car magazines said that the US ///M5 and ///M6's will have manual. They made it sound like ONLY the US would get these. I hope that's true.

This is because ... what, ///m derives a large portion of its profit from the US - like 50% or something crazy like that.
