M5 touring or the sedan?

I'm curious why some car enthusiasts prefer the M5 touring over the sedan? Yes, the touring isn't your grandma's station wagon, haha - but from what I know, they basically come equipped with many of the same features.

Maybe some of you might know the pro's and con's of each vehicle... other than the appearance and exterior aesthetics, is there much difference between the two in terms of features?

We don't have it in the States.

I guess the question for me would come down to how much I need the extra space--and that's really all I'd worry about.

Personally, I just love the looks of tourings. A great example that always makes me smile is the E30 touring.

Personally I'm much more a fan of the Sedan. I just don't need all of the room that the Touring offers.

as an emt, i have entertained the merits of a touring for the amount of response equipment i "can" carry. But i think if i had a touring i would just fill it full and forget what is in there.

I used to be like that, only there was enough stuff to keep everything in place! Now my trunk is almost empty; I'm keeping the car as light as possible. In there now is a styrofoam cooler and a reusable shopping bag.
