there is another post with this picture, but i was wondering if any of you m3 gurus might have the time to maybe compose or add to this post a list of wat these parts are called, i can number em if you want then all you have to do is explain, or u can number it urselfs up to u, but this list would be a great help to all the m3 owners/builders out there

maybe you should go ahead and number it so that its easier for people to come in here and say all the parts they know, then later we can gather all of the parts together into one big list

alright seeing as how no one has posted and i made the pic i will decide the format :P ...don't resist the borg
when posting start with the number followed by the part and its function.
Example:

7. Exhuast manifold. To funnel exhaust gasses from exhaust valves to catalytic converter.

14. catalytic converter, treats the exhaust before it leaves the car and removes a lot of the pollution

58. Engine short block. Conatins the pistons and the crankshaft.

mass majority of the parts there are pretty self explanatory if you know about cars

76. Alternator. supplies electricity to the car and battery, powered by a belt ran from the crankshaft.

71. Radiator Fan. Pushes air though the radiator to cool off the engine.

6. Oil Sump. Contains and cools the oil before being pumped into the engine.
