Does it take a while to get used to having Reverse up there next to 1st gear? Like most stick shift drivers, I'm accustomed to having R below 5.

Thanks in advance! The BMW in question is a 325i. Hopefully I'll own it.

Reverse is a place where it takes effort to go into, so you dont need to worry about accidently going in reverse. and yes, its very is to get used to, cuz it takes a good amount of force to get it there, none that would make you think you are going into first and accidently 'slip' into first.

this is unrelated but i think you guys will laugh, i was in the drive thru at wendy's yesterday and i was waiting there a long time, i was driving my mom's auto cavalier, i decided to put it in park, so i push it all the way forward into park, i let off the brake and the car starts to roll back, i'm like , then i hit the brake and look down the damn thing was in reverse, i'm like wtf i pushed it all the way forward, so then i pull back up to the window and this time i make sure it's in park, the same thing happened when i went to park the car at the grocery store, frikin automatics make me mad, i hate them, just thought you guys might like to hear that story, i was freaking out, thankgod there was no one behind me, that would have been, omg i don't even want to think what would have happened if i hit a car

M3DUDE, it's not automatics, it's the Cavalier or you ! No car should roll back when in Park unless it has a busted tranny or you are on maybe a 85 degree hill.

he said it was really in reverse....

But to get back on topic, it took me about a day to get used to where reverse was, the first time I had to sit in it for about 3-5 mins before I was able to get it in there. I was afraid I would break something if I pushed too hard.

yea you have to push it over pretty far to get it in reverse. theres no way you could possibly get it into reverse by accident
