I flipped my GTI down a 15 foot embankment on the way to work today and totalled it out. I knew that as soon as my loan was up for the GTI that I was going to get a BMW.
I am at this point in time. I love BMW's. I want any E36 3-series. They are all amazing.
Any suggestions? Show me the light.
until 96 all the 3ers were obd1, from then until 1999 they were obd11
obd11 has more restrictions on the engine to meet new emmisions laws, obd1 is a little easier to get hp out of small mods, but you can always convert obd11 cars to obd1, but i've heard it's illegal but no one will care unless you need to pass emmisions, sorry to here about the gt1, ok let me break down all the 3ers for you
that link should explain most of the models and such, one thing you have to realize is that the euro version of the e36 m3 had a lot more hp than the american version,
us had 240, euro had 286 and 321, well i'm sorry but i have ADD and i can't concentrate long enough to explain everything, lol, i think i got things started, i'm sure other will have more to contribute, if you want to know anything specific just ask, but as for explaining everything about the e36 3 series i just can't do that, lol

they have the E34 m5 engine in them, and Mtech suspension, and they come in a 5speed.

correct, because companies produce things 1 less then their objective, its a sign of good luck, i know Ferrari did the same thing with their Enzo's also

sorry to hear about the VeeDub i own 2 at the moment 67 beetle and 85 Scirocco
Veedubs and BMWs are a lot alike in their durability...but the big difference is BMW makes RWD cars and VW makes (for the most part) FWD cars
all good in my book...im not a very big fan of the E36 but they are great cars good luck

Well, long story short, reason y I moved to BMw is because some B- - - - hit my Mustang from the side (she was going ~30-40mph) totaled both of our cars, nerve damaged my arm (duh to airbag exploding in it, yes OUCH). And only "defense" she had for her self was "I didn't see him" hummm used . Let's see, it was a "fresh" (bright) white Mustang at 6 am in the morning, with xenon light, bright blue underbodies, loud exhaust and loud system, she would have had to be, blind, death and stupid to not see me or jsut plain and simply
