the first bmw was the Dixi made in the mid to late twenties i think. the kidney grilles didnt start till the 30's with the 303.

cause that is what their symbol means....

they made aircraft engines and motorcycles before cars. and were known for their special altitude carburetors (or something like that) back then

the boeing 717 has BMW/Rolls Royce engines, and is still in use
