Engine Siezure

Got a '96 316 compact lux, had her for about 3 years now, never a hicup, a misfire, not a thing, she's been a dream.

I pull into a local garage to pick up some service parts, i'm in there probably 5 minutes. I come back out, jump in, press the start button and nothing. used: Engine probably turns half a turn n then locks solid. Pi**ed off??? I THINK SO!!!

So now i gotta pull the motor out n rip the thing apart n find out what the damage is. Sometimes things just suck, really badly...

Anyway, i jus needed to get that off my chest because its been bugging me and i have very few places to vent my anger that don't involve driving sumwhere...

I think the people at the local garage did something to it while you were inside.

Just a little update, especially for anyone with a similar problem...

I eventually get the car home and try to turn the motor over by hand. Hard to believe but she's not siezed anymore. So i jump in, hit the start button and she starts up 1st time. Let it run for a minute, no problems. Then as the motor warms up it starts to misfire n then starts coughing water outta the tail pipe...

Long story short, pulled the head off n the Head Gasket's split between No 4 cylinder n the water jacket. No 4 cylinder filled up with coolant, hydrauliced that cylinder n gave the symptom of a siezed engine...

New head set, a skim n an oil change n she's bak on the road...
