Electric supercharger

My cousin bought a crappy electric supercharger the other day, and I must say it looks like a piece of crap. There is no way these things can work, right?

heartbreaker is on a distinguished road
i have heard they slow the car down instead of helping. but i have never tried it or riden in a car with one. just heard there a piece of shit. good motto to live by.-you get what you pay for.
