That was one hell of a story, exciting all the way to the end. Yeah I'm pretty sure anyone that owns a F430 would go ballistic ghead to see that a BMW that is cheaper, straight outright blow em out of the water.

Gee, that's not surprising. Wanna know why? Cuz Ferrari's suck. Okay, I mean they suck less than lots and lots of cars out there... but they aren't these super fast, super amazing, machines that people think they are. They look cool and expensive, they are cool and expensive, but... that's pretty much it... and there are much faster, much cooler cars out there.

Dunno about their reliability (who does, except the people who actually BOUGHT one... not leased one... and kept it forever? Even then, how often do they take those things OUT?), but I'm sure it's pretty bad.

On the other hand, I was surprised they had that chart in there with some of the ferrari's specs! Ferrari likes to keep that stuff hush hush...

Ferraris arent very reliable. I know a couple owners and they all need regular "routine" tuneups, which cost anywhere from $5,000-11,000 every time. Just like the mitsubishi FQ400, which also needs regular expensive maintence every couple thousand miles. They are essentially race cars. Expect to have to have a squad of mechanics standing by for when they fail, just like a race team.

Having said that, I'll still probably at least own at least one in my life time, most likely a 328 GTS, even though it will most likely be a short lived love affair.

I've driven an '88 Testerossa.......everything is incredibly stiff. From the steering to the clutch-stiffness of the gas pedal. Its crazy. They need 25 mins of idle to warm up before you can even drive it.

AMG can't build an NA engine that can compete with M engines, so they stick in a supercharger and say their cars are faster. BMW could simply do the same, but they don't out of principle.

I have to go change now.

Wow. That's incredible. Mind you, I never did believe all of the mystique behind a Ferrari anyways. If anyone here ever remembers reading Death Of A Salesman, the lesson was that no amount of spirit, intention, or character could outdo someone who was cold, calculating, and honest. The kid with the bravado vs. the kid with the facts. Well, the M5 is the kid with the facts.

Now, everyone say it with me: Propeller Badge Forever!

It would be awesome to see a comparison of the two cars on a track with pro drivers. I would like to see how much the gap stretches when each car is pushed to the absolute limit. I still think that it would be very close though.
