drawing request

First time on board did a search and did not find info. Driver side door on 2000 323ci will not stay open when entering/exiting vehicle. Dad will fix/repair if I can find drawing or step by step instructions on latch mechanism, otherwise I'll have to live with it as dealer repair is out of the question on secretary salary. Hope somebody has this info.
