Calling all gearheads!
CDV
I was wondering if anyone has actually heard of this being done and if it really makes that big of a difference?

Out with the CDV, in with the real drivers! If you need a CDV on your car then you need to give it to someone that can drive it

I just read an article in Roundel about it. This guy did it to his E46 (I think) and loved it so much that he also did it to his Toyota.

Do what? Remove the CDV, or put one in in the first place?

Manufacturers put in CDVs because there are many people who can't drive and thus f up their car prematurely. I don't think I have ever heard of anyone installing a CDV on a car that didn't have one.

Yes, definitely remove it, it made a huge difference on my 540. It was impossible for me to shift smoothly with a CDV installed. Ironic, right?

Agreed. rip that shit out.
BMW puts it in some of thier newer cars. Bavarian autosport carries the part to get rid of it.
If I want to dump my clutch, I want to dump my clutch. After my first accident I refuse to buy another car with an automatic transmission. I don't want my car thinking at all. I want my car to do what I tell it to. If I say let the clutch fly I want the clutch to fly. Not think about it and then do it slowly.

You don't even need a part to get rid of it. Just take off the CDV and attach the line directly to where the CDV attaches.

So it did make a big difference with it removed. I don't know why bmw would make that standard on a manual, some people like to drive their cars.
