BMW vs. Infiniti - BMW Forum

I tried to find the thread that had previously discussed this but could not. I thought Bmw had sued Infiniti and won about them not using the "M" slogan for their line of cars. Well I just saw a commercial of theirs saying to come and drive the new M. What the hell!

wasnt it only in canada or something? I remember something about that... but then again im no law student.

It just shows how little faith and pride Infiniti has in their products.

If I feel my product is better than any out there,
I will make sure it is in no way associated with, or mistaken for some other lesser name.
Obviously, Infiniti doesn't have that confidence in themselves.

Why not call it the G... I guess it was less complicated taking the M that is well known from BMW... I agree with CosmosBlack
