BMW says 'nein' to boring vehicles

BMW BORING? NEIN - Let's get one thing straight: BMW will never make a minivan "because they are just plain boring," says BMW AG Chairman Helmut Panke. "Our customers can always rely on one particular thing: We do not build and we never will build boring cars," Automotive News Europe quoted Panke as saying. "We will focus on premium - only on premium." But while speaking at a dinner with British journalists in London last month, Panke admitted that although there will be no minivan, BMW is looking at what he calls a "space concept."

well bmw makes alot of concepts, and bunch are never publicly released. even though it's some what of a mystery, i think that the gaps between production models such as E46 (3series 1999) to E53 (X5 2000) are filled with concepts or prototypes. the new 2005 6 series is called the E63 so that must mean that bmw has developed 17 cars since the E46 in 1999, and of which only a few are destined for mass production. so i dont think there's anything to worry about when bmw releases a concept or prototype, cause there is a slim chance of it ever going up for sale.
