Bimmer Magazine just did a piece on this. One of the writers piloted each of the ///M cars around the the track at Goodwood accomanied by the other two. The lucky writer commented that the e36 ///M3 was the best suited car for that track. Not that it could outperform the e46 in general, just that the e46 had too much for the aging Goodwood Circuit. Great article, great magazine.
BTW, the e36 (as well as the others if I'm not mistaken) was a Eurospec car. 286hp e36 ///M car, MMMMMM...

i thought eurospec e36's had 321 horsepower, wait do you mean rear wheel horspower
new e46's have 333 hp if im not mistaken. BTW driving the 3 ///M legends would be like having sex a pure bred perfect body family, tapping the barely legal e46, the older e36, and the sexiest milf of them all, the e30. And we all know the oldest has the most experience, so my choice= e30. hehe
