I am looking at buying either a bmw 520 i 2000 or bmw 318i 2001. I know nothing about these cars could people please let me know which is the better car & why.
I personally would not buy either. The 318 is a 4 cyl engine and lacks power. It does have great fuel economy which may be your thing, but icons them to be very underpowered. The 520i is a 6 cyl but the smallest displacement 6cyl available. The E39 is also about 750 lbs heavier so it will be just as slow as a 318.
What is your goal with this car? Optimal fuel economy? Performance? Do you want modify the vehicle?
What's your price range? Can I ask why your looking at these two specific cars?
