sup fellas, im contemplating buying a 1993- 1995 325is (stock). i is jsut wondering what you guys have to say about this car - ive got a couple questions.

- does the inline 6 cylinder engine have the power i need? i want to be able to add upgrades later too

- how good will the accleration be in this car?

- whats the top speed in this car? and what could it be after chip upgrades?

- will i be able to blow away civic's etc? (when its stock)

im 16, this will be my first car, and im payin for all this car 100% myself so id appreciate it if yalld give me your opinions and help me figure out if this is the right car for me.

thanks - catalyst.

ps - i would like to add that im not some stupid prick of a kid, i worked all last summer for the money for this car and im working already this summer after bein out of school for 4 days, i should have enough money to buy one after about 2 months of workin this summer
deno what im guna do about insurance though

You picked a sweet ride!

your questions:

yes, the upgrades are nice too
acceleration is nice 0-60 in 7.1(mines down @6-6.2now)
top speed is 139 stock??? im up to 160mph, with room for improvement.
yes, civics,preludes,accorde,maximas,ect.ect.ect (u dont need to think small time! think @ "when will i eat my first V8 SS!)

its a car you will get hooked on. welcome to the BMW family! first advise:
unless its covered under warranty, free, or u r just there to drive the new M3 FOR FREE, stay away from dealerships. and send pictures. and car info: mileage, options, wheels, ect. ect.

automatic???

if thats what u want then work him down a bit more.

Torque is right though, look at an auto trader, they r pretty easy to come by. i found my 94 325is with nice rims for $5000, w/100k miles.

good luck, and dont settle. be picky and get what u really want.

good luck

IMO, you HAVE to get stick shift. and a BMW w/ 100k+ miles on it, or 200k+ miles on it, can still run f*ckin great, so dont let miles turn you down. mine has 203k and its running awesome. good choice on a first car. good luck man.

I just bought a 325is 5 speed and I LOVE it...it is my first Bimmer to own, but deffinatly not my first to drive...The M50TU is a good engine. Single VANOS isn't too bad either it's a fun car, I think you'd enjoy owning one
