| Bimmers are beamers - and it just gets better 'n' better. Greetings,
I am on my third BMW now; I just picked up a 2009 128i with 17K on the clock in Montego Blue. Manual Transmission Sport Package and heated seats.
My, my, my!
I traded in my Z3 AND a MINI Clubman on it. BMW, buncha crafty guys sent me a card worth $1000 off service/parts (used as 15% discount) so I went in to inquire about the little bumper thingy that goes on the Z3 inside gas cap door - probably a $2.95 part - and made the mistake of walking thru the showroom to get to the parts counter. "Just for fun" I hit the CPO lot and started thinking about the guibo on my Z3, the crappy mileage it's been getting lately and the rubber parts that are wearing out prematurely due to storage (2000 Z3, 38K when I bought it) and the leak in the windshield. The MINI, which has gone up WAY HUGE insurance-wise and which has no local dealers and an expiring warranty. Tick tock, tick tock, right shoulder guy with the halo, left shoulder guy with the horns....
Make a long story less long, I traded both cars for the 128i.
I don't understand why they started affectionately referring to BMW cars as 'bimmers' - it should be 'beamers' because I never get out of the car without beaming from ear to ear and I lose myself in the engine note so deeply sometimes it's like I was 'beamed' wherever I went' Captain Kirk style.
Anyway, just a little BMW oriented ramble. |
