I used to have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am that had a leaky oil pan and when they took the pan off, they found a screw. From the size of it and the damage on the side of it, they thought it came from a rod that runs across the top of the valves and fell through. Never researched any further where it came from. Sold that car 3 years ago. It's still driving around town.
