best bimmer to build for racing in Ca

here's the challenge, build a fun bimmer that can handle well but hit high 13s on the few days at the drag strip.(if possible at all)

i really like the early 90s 535i, but ive heard the 5spd is uncommon and there doesnt seem to be much of an aftermarket.

then i like the E30, but again i cant seem to find Ca legal parts

lastly would be a 92-95 325is, but then its 5k for the supercharger. which seems to be one of the few mods that adds a good amount of power and is still Ca legal.

You could buy the high end Da-Motorsport package, not sure about it being CA legal but it would be more hp than you could shake a stick at. This is a weird thread.
