if i had that much money i would buy an old bmw (such as E21 or something), strip it completely, install a rollcage and pop in a M3 engine with all the goodies (supercharger, exhaust etc).
E36 M3, and do some nice upgrades to it without making it ricy, and use the left over money to maintain it and possibly buy track time and things like that, instead of just blowing the 60k right away.
20k on E36 m3
15k in upgrades
25k left for track time, tires, parts(maintnance, gas money) and if you wanna start entering in races and stuff, your gonna need the extra money for tires and all that ish.

but yeah maybe wait for the lotus if you don't need it as your only car... but wait!!! you'd have enough money to buy another car for your primary driver... like a new 3 series or almost any older BMW.
