330 Performance Pkg vs. M3

I own a 2001 330i with sport pkg and 5-speed auto (I know...spare me the abuse). I want to buy a 3-Series with the current body style before it gets Bangled - and I want a little more driving excitement. I drove an M3 and 330 ZHP back-to-back, both with 6-speed manuals. The M3 was way more fun on the test drive, but I am unsure how it would be as a "daily driver" here in the Midwest.

I would appreciate any advice from someone who has owned both or has extensive experience with both.

I chose the 330i ZHP because it was going to be my daily driver. Though the M3 is certainly more entertaining in small doses, it does not provide me with enough balance as my daily driver. For my speed needs, I spent the money saved on a motorcycle.

Thanks. That might be the answer. I recently bought a cycle: a BMW F650. It's silver and matches my car - kind of like matched luggage. Just learning to ride, though, so I am still faster in my car.
