I think its going in better then the huge 7. Id preferably rather have the exhaust on the left side so I can hear it more, but thats me.
Its good cuz it isnt huge. so thats a plus. but the front end looks a little small. but its just a picture, and im sure it looks a lot better in person. what you think Silver?

I think it looks great. I like the wheels too. I think BMW will go with a design that is new and stylish, yet still has the "BMW" look. Whatever they do they dont want to mess up the streak of the 3 series car driver 10 best, 13 yrs running. IMO the 3 series is BMW best series and most popular, so a new model has to be on top of its game.

you know i like the look of the car, but i voted no.. see the problem ive been having with the new models comming out is they all look the same, just in a different size.. too many of the styling cues are very similar. where as the older lines of the 3,5,and 7 at first glance are very distinct.
from any angle, you know which is which .. however the new line of BMWs are very much like the 5 is a smaller sharper 7 and now the new 3 looks like a smaller version of the 7
I like it...it has a good stance, and the side profile looks a lot like a combo between the 5 and 7, while the back styling is definitely from the X3. I'd like to see the front, but I think it will be great. And having the V8 option will be nice...if the article is to be believed and there really will be ample back seat room (similar to my E39 at least), a V8 3-series may be in my future!

I like it. I have been looking to buy my first BMW, and wish the new 3 was coming out sooner. Have been tempted to the current 3 series, but although it's really nice, I feel like it's missing some things to be "long term perfect". I think the current one needs just a bit more power, and a stouter sportier look--the M3 looks great but that car's too much in terms of capability and price for my daily driver needs. Had a look at an '05 Legacy GT last night, not too bad, but some quirky sort of things stand out after looking at the 3-series. Too bad the Perf Pkg wasn't offered in an earlier model year, I'd probably go for it for now and trade up to the new 3 later...

I dont know about that, I can never tell the e34 and the e32 apart, and from the front the e34 and the e30 look exactly the same(minus body kits).

I have the same problem...I'll see a '92 and a '98 3 series and I wonder why they haven't changed much.
Yeah, before I knew BMW's really well I sometimes would not be able to tell an E38 from an E39 at a distance. And I think the 5 prior to that (E34) and the previous 7 (I can't remember the E-code) looked really similar too. It's just family resemblance. Regardless, I think the '05 3er has a unique back end.
