do you have an amp running your 6x9"s? If so, its a possibility its in there. Motor noise comes from a multiple array of areas. It could be the radio, amps, wire routing, alternator, quality of cables, and/or a bunch of other things. It takes a lot of troubleshooting to get rid of it. A lot of times its in the grounding of amplifiers. I would start with that first. If you have an amp running the mids, turn the gain down a bit and see if the noise is more quiet.

Had the same problem with mine...i had a couple of audiobahn 12cm's
The whining noise is never becouse of the speakers(if you havent done some seriously bad wiring, which I dont think).

Most good amps have a filter that takes away the engine noise and all fluctuations in the hull. Sometimes this filter can be faulty...so if your amp is supposed to have it i would try to get it changed for a new one at the shop you bought it.

Or if you want to make it simple you just go down to the nearest car-audio shop and get yourself an RCA filter which should remove the whistling sound.

Remember that these fitler usually are only for a pair of RCA cables so if you got 4 RCA inputs you neede two filters..

Good luck!

you need a filter and resister on the constent wire from the back of the deck. It should be the yellow wire on the head units wiring harness. good luck.
