It's the one-octave up variety. The one-piece subs just get boomy if you try to turn them up. They provide perfectly fine fill, though, if that is what you're looking for. I have a Basslink and it does what I want it to.

No, the basslink will give you more feel it in your chest bass.

Physically, a 10 should always produce more low end than a 6 or 8. Sometimes there are 8s that sound better, but they won't be in a bass tube.

I do not want a bass that I feel in my chest-I am looking something that will fill in the low end, but dpo a good job of it--would the bazooka be ok?

When I first thought about adding some bass to my sound system, I stopped at Circuit City to look at the Bazooka tube that was on sale. Even the salesman there told me that it would not be very noticeable in my BMW.

I found this board when I decided to investigate further and am happy to say that the advice on the Basslink was a big help. I'm very satisfied with the sound produced. I wasn't looking for something earth shaking, just enough to give a notieceable low end to the stock speakers.

How much low end do you want? technically, low end are the lower frequencies that are barely audible but rather felt. this is generally refferred to as tight bass. It sounds like you want boomy bass, in which case you wont get from either the bass tube or the basslink.
