what brand capacitors are good??

Hey Everyone.

Wow been a while since I been on the forums. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with capacitors? Just wondering what brand should I be looking into? Monster cable or power acoustics any good? I am running 2 10inch JL w3v2 system so should i get a .5 farad or 1 farad capacitor? Thanks to anyone that can help.

any name brand is good. there is only about 3 companies that really "make" the capacitors. everyone else just buys the cap and puts their own sleeve over the top. A good rule of thumb is 1 farad for every 1000 watts.

1 farad to 1000 watts is definitely a good rule of thumb. As far as brands go, I don't think it really matters. I had a Audiobahn 2 farad fancy chrome digital one in my first setup. I sold it and bought a 2 farad Lightning Audio, under half the price, and i honestly don't notice the difference at all. Appearance dictates your choice alot, if it's gonna be seen, then buy a nice looking one. But if you do an install like mine, it's hidden and can't be seen anyways-so buy the ugliest, cheapest one you can find. Good luck
