V1 Radar Hard Wire Install

I would like to hard wire the install of my V1 Radar Unit into my X3.
I know there is a simple answer but where is the best place connect the 12V+ lead?

up above the dome lights by the rear view mirror. There is a 12V by the sun roof motor.

i did mine under the dash, and ran the flat phone cord behind the left column

I have done 5 radar installations using the wires above the domelights, I know they work for sure too, and a little closer. I have done it in an audi, my car (twice), 328is, and e46 m3

OK I am still looking for that 12V. I attached a picture of my sun roof motor with wire connector disconected. The two larger guage wires do not have any voltage (the black with white stripe and the brown colored ones. (yes I checked it with ignition on). I assume the 12V is not one of the smaller leads. Is there a power lead some place else. Any help would be appreciated.[attachmentid=20909]
