I'm interested in getting a system in my X5 cuze the sound is good, but the bass isn't all that great.

What do you all reccomend? If i get it installed what will it do to my warranty? And can i get a sub and amp without having to change my HU?

its a bit expensive but bavauto may have a bass link kit for your ride that should be plug-n-play.

you should be able to hook an amp and sub up on yer own but it may take some work.

The basslink kit is just for systems with the Prem audio, which mine doesnt have so the plug and play kit wouldnt work

Not nessarly.

you should beable to tap current lines to get the signal nessary to drive the amp.... The basslinks for the 3 series do this and stand-alone versions allow for that mode of operation...

But a new HU may sound a bit better... and make it much easier to do these kinds of things. but I'm not sure how the rest of the speakers are driven(amp power?, HU power?).... BMW has made their audio setups a bit of a pain...
