Hey umm my car doesn't have keyless entry or an alarm. I dont' have a button on my center console that locks or unlocks the doors. IF I buy an after market alarm, am I gonna be able to lock and unlock my doors without using the key ?

SS is right, with the doors closed, push down on the drivers front lock, if the rest lock, you have central locking and an aftermarket alarm will mimic the same function. You (or a shop) will have to install an actuator in the drivers door and the aftermarket alarm will operate that actuator, the car will do the rest.
Hope that helps...

I am pretty sure there arent any bimmers that actually have a "button". All of them use the front door locks as "buttons". The alarm wont come with the actuator, but they should sell them. I think my shop sold them for like 25-30 each and then the additional labor to install.

yea ive got a friend with a 90's 5 series with the button on the center console also... what bill was talking about though was your lock on your door... the little stem that sticks out... when your sitting in there push down on the stem and if it locks all the doors then you have central locking...
hmm well I'll see if I can let you guys know when I get home ... Where would th actuator be located if I got one ? in other words where would I mount it

It'll go in the drivers door, and it has a clamp that attaches to the factory door lock rod. The actuator basically is bolted to the lock rod and is triggered by the alarm/keyless.
That is in a Toyota, but you get the point. Should look like this one:
