Subs cause brake lights to go out

Hi there,

Since I got a sub (only 300w) I've been having trouble with my brake lights. The bulbs are fine, but the lights seem to have a dodgy connection. I am not sure what I can do to resolve this issue. Obviously I stopped using the sub, but the damage seems to have been done. (If you call it that)

Any suggestions? I assume it must be a fairly common issue?

Any help would be much appreciated. Need to get this sorted before I get bummed or pulled!

I would start with checking the sockets for the bulbs first. Make sure the bulbs are in there tight. If your amp would draw a bucketload of power it might make them flicker a little, but not make them go out. Also check all your amps connections, making sure you have a good ground and large enough wires to handle what the amp requires. A 300 watt amp takes about a 10 or 8ga. wire.
