I need to remove my AFTER market Premier Stereo (made by Pioneer) from my 318. However there are TWO small slots on the sides that I BELIEVE require some type of DIN tool. This is NOT the orginal stereo requiring the BMW 5 sided allen wrench tool.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex

go to your local installer (best buy, circuit city...) and ask them to use their BMW keys.. there are special keys, but nothing 2 screwdrivers couldn't do. they would be those 3-blade keys on your land rover website. Unless you are talking about the radio keys that actually come with your pioneer radio? please clarify, it shouldn't be hard at all to get your existing radio out.

You will need to get the right tools to remove it. It is 2 thin "L" shaped pieces that are mostly flat with a little indention on the long end of the "L". This indention grabs ahold of the sides of the radio when you slide it in the two slots you are seeing. Once its grabs, it should slide neatly out of the metal sleeve.
