Stereo And Alarm Problems

was looking at getting a audiovox prestige alarm installed on my 98 bmw 328is and they said it wouldnt work, they also told me i couldnt install an aftermarket deck because id have to re-wire the whole car and buy new aftermarket speakers..

is this true? how can i add a new deck and alarm to my bmw without having all the problems they talked about...

help!!

First, sell the audiovox. They suck. Then, buy a Stellar alarm. It is plug an play with all the factory hookups and a breeze to install.

Second, you can install an aftermarket deck no problem. You may have to bypass the amp, but it is not required.

Third, you dont need aftermarket speakers, but they are a much nicer addition.

ok, ill have to go ask around...where can i purchase a steller alarm? any place online??

Any independent shop worth a darn should have no problem installing either of those. The shop you went to is clueless, drop them, don't ever go back, and find a small independent shop that's been around for a while.

And Stellar does make an alarm that is a breeze to install, but your Prestige by Audiovox alarm isn't that bad. You almost never hear me say Audiovox isn't that bad, as most of their products suck, but their alarms are ok. I sell them, my roomate and both of my installers have one and they work well. I'm actually gonna put one on my car at some point.

well then....so all the extra work he talked about is BS?? ill have to call around and see..i know another shop quotes me the same for the 8hr install for the alarm..

Stellar (assuming the previous ower didnt screw your crap up like they did mine) will install in about 2-3 hours. Thats by your self with a screw driver.

If all the shops suck that bad you need to move. Or learn to DIY soon.
