just curious. i have a 93 325is and was wondering what brand are the stock speakers? i know stock speakers are ok but i probably want to change them later on because i want more bass and quality. does anyone know what brand speakers are good for the rear?

i know some of the bmw's came with the harmon kardon setup stock..they are very nice speakers but don't really pick up alot of different tastes imo...i would suggest going with an eclipse, diamond audio, alpine, etc component set in the rear and the front with a 4 channel amp. that will give you SOME bass, but will never fulfill the lower frequencies that are in some songs..I would suggest going with maybe a single 10 inch sub in a sealed enclosure if you don't care about rock hard bass, or if you want it to hit pretty hard you can go with a vented box and maybe more subs to get deeper...however, in a vented box the suspension on the woofer moves alot easier and in some cases the sub doesnt last as long...

thanks for the info. i'll probably look for some rear speakers on e bay. yea i already got 2 10" jl subs and a jl amp in my trunk already, but kinda regret buying them haha should of saved up for a super charger instead but to late. ghead

RF is mostly SPL. I prefer SQ.

i heard that infinity speakers are pretty good for sound quality. is this fact true? since i got jb subs would jb rear speakers produce good bass and quality?

The the thing I love most about my infinitys are the tweeters. Unlike most car tweetes, the infinitys use silk like in higher end home audio. The highs can go very very high before becoming shrill. Since you already have subs, dont worry about the bass quality and let the sub do that for you. thats is job. plan the rest of your speakers around mids and highs. I will say that the 5.25 infinitys do not have much bass in them compared to what a sub can do.

I have not heard many JB speakers, but if they perform like their subs do, then i would imagine they would be a good choice. MB Quart is also a great brand to look into.

i've had MB Quart components installed before in my civic with an alpine V12 driving them both in the front and in rear deck and a pair of JL 10"subs driven by RF at the back and man, it was the best sounding system I've ever had. But then again how your system sounds is a matter of preference. I prefer clarity with a little bit of power over really loud setup though... those MBQuart RCE213's are crystal clear!!!

JL amps all the way, Alpine is a great company all around (esspecially their speakers). Eclipse is also a good choice.
