Just got some cheap pioneers and I am installing them in the front kick panels of my 92 525i e34. The passenger went in fine. The driver's side however is different there are 4 connections to the speaker not just your usual pos/neg connections. In addition the magnet to the drivers side is larger than on the passenger side while both speakers are 5 1/4 inch. Any help on this?
sounds like the left speaker is aftermarket. i don't know the specifics of the stock e34 amp, but if it's like the e36, the crossover is built into the amp, so it will have separate outputs for high, mid, woofer. so for the front it can have up to 6 wires per side. if you found only 2, that sounds fishy.
