Im in the market for a new sub and im thinking about going with one 12" JL W3, i want some good bass for my rap music but i also listen to some country and rock as well so i want something well rounded. I was recomended a W3 cuz i didn't want anything groundbreaking just some nice clean and hard hitting for my rap music, does anyone have any experience with a W3 if so can u post up? I would also like to know what other routes i could go with the subs keeping $300 under

Kicker subs are also well rounded. More important than the sub is the amp you plan to power it with. We need to know that to best reccomend a sub for you.

I agree with press. I usually pick an amp out, and then match the sub to it. I really like JL subs, especially when matched with JL amps. Need deep pockets for JL though.

I suggest then spending money on one Infinity or Allpine sub and power it with a Kenwood KAC 7201. Its a cheap but powerful amp I've had success with in a few othr installs.

Not to hijack the tread or anything...

How many watts should I go for to match my 22 watts RMS x 4 in my Sony HU.

I am looking at 1 good 12 inch to complement what I already have, and the new mid-priced interior speakers I plan to add, all before x-mas!

I want even sound, so I don't need 4 - 15's and the mondo amp to match...

if your looking for good prices and a fairly wide range to choose from etronics.com has some of the most amazing prizes i have ever seen, there is also www.woofersetc.com who deals directly with the manufacturers i believe. anyway, hope this all helps.

I find my Infinity 1230 and Alpine MRV-T420 pair quite nicely with the Alpine 7804 HU.

One of the best pieces of equipment to add is a multi-band equalizer (the more bands, the better). That way, you can enhance the sound depending on the type of music. Deeper bass for rap, more balanced for other types of music.

The same goes for your home stereo.
