i found 2 10'' 300W max power subs, a mono 900W amp, and sub box for $299? is this a good deal and would it fit in my trunk?

Depends. Is it all RF? Model #'s? Specs don't mean much anymore, I would be more inclined to give you an opinon based on specific info. Not that that is a lot of stuff for the money, but who cares how much stuff you get if it sucks.

it's low end fosgate, but I have always had good luck with their subs. My personal opinion of fosgate, is that they are great for rock/metal, but don't sound as nice when listening to rap.

I had a kid come in my store a few weeks ago that had previously purchased a party pack from Best Buy. I didn't hear it, but he was disapointed with it. I sold him a small two channel amp, and a single Sony 12" sub. He was amazed at how much better it sounded. I was too. How could 2 Fosgate subs sound worse than a single Sony? I would stay away.

Im concerned about the the tunk specs. I can't think of any prefab boxes that would fit AND give the subs the appropriate VAS. The boxes I build for the e36 trunk are 12 deep, and 16-17 high, 33 wide, and the only way they get close to the reccomended VAS is with polyfill.

My last system had a single 12" Punch DVC sub and I was underwhelmed. I suppose any sub is okay if boom is the goal, but it seems that for SQ you really have to spend some bucks. I think a higher-quality single sub would be my choice.
