Hi! Is it possible to replace my 16:9 navi with mid display and a aftermarket cd so the obc+tele+steeringwheel controls remains funktional? What besides a mid display do i need to buy? The car is an 530 E39 with 16:9 navi and BM24 proffessional radio-module , no oem amp and a Motorola V3690 phone.
It is but you will require an auto electrican, as its very very complicated and will cost.
My idea was that maybe replacing the audio/video and mid harness that i have today with one from the car that donates the mid-panel so it will be the same as in that car would work. Can you be a little more specific on what part of the job you think needs a auto electrician? The cost i have calculated on is for: Used mid-panel , Used mid harness , Used radio harness , Oem to Iso radio-adapter. What more do you think i will need? I have worked with cars for meny years but i dont have so mutch experiense on how the E39 electrical system works
Hi, Im only relating what my mate did, which is the same as you , apart he had a dvd player & ipod linked too, so maybe thats why he got an electrician in to do it, sounds from what youve got should work fine as your changing from a donor car of the same it should in theory work, theres only one way to find out!! you cant do no harm apart from blow a fuse.

Okey! I will not connect any of the audio to the oem equipment and for the phone i allready have mounted a separate speaker , mayde your buddy can give me some hints anyway?

I just want to report that it was no problem to replace the bordmonitor with an mid All the connections are made with help from Bmw WDS , the only thing that remins for me to get full functionality(BC+clock) on the mid is to recode the IKE from Navi to MID and that will i do as soon as i get Bmw scanner 1.4.0 that i have ordered.
For now only the telephone works and if I connect a cable between pin 5 and pin 11 the bordmonitor-radio also works with the mid
