Removing Tape Deck / Radio Oem

Bought a new alpine head unit, expected the old unit to be easy to remove, but i cant even figure out how it comes out?? anyone know how to do it

This happened to me. Get a real small Allen wrench, then you'll see two little doors at either end of the radio, open them with your fingerneail or a nail clipper (they're not fastened, and open right up. Unscrew the screws on either end with the Allen wrench, and the radio should pull right out.

Hm..YO...does the screen still display correctly..mine goes on and off...if it does send me a pic and I might pick it up from you...

Screen display and all work perfectly problem is im in Australia. If u pay for postage you can have the whole unit for free

Went down to the local car store and they said there is a specialised tool to remove these headunits, they click in the 2 holes either side and wuhla its out. I want to know how else can i do this. Can i just put in 4 small allan keys and wuhla or is it a little more complicated

There is supposed to be some special tool, you can buy it if you like for aroun $15, or your dealer cn pull the radio out too, they should do it for free. I used 2 different sized allen wrenches. It you have an allen wrench set then just keep trying them until one works. It really is not too big of a deal, just remember that you may not find one that fits perfectly for both sides. I believe the right side took a smaller one for me.

my stock slid right out (after the allen wrench things...put in a exad jvc touchscreen.
