Radio Works But No Sound. Amp Problem? Help!!

I went to leave for the drift event today in Atlanta (about an hour away) and no tunes. The head unit appears to be working properly. I checked the fuse box which said fuse 9 and 44 for radio. Is there another fuse for the amp? Is there an in-line fuse for the amp? Maybe the amp is dead.

I dont believe there is an inline fuse. If they are good, you may have a bad speaker. A decent aftermarket amp will shut off the output section when it sees that a speaker is bad, this may be what your factory amp is doing. Hope that helps...

the same problem happened to me a few weeks ago. i was without any music for 2 weeks, its worse than one may think. but i finally took my car to a shop and they told me my sony receiver was straight fried. hopefully youre problem isn't that bad, but that might be it. i spent a lot of time taking my car apart looking for fuses and loose connections without finding anything. thankfully youre in a bimmer and driving is sometimes good enough entertainment. though traffic is pretty bad without music. good luck!
