I'm not exactly sure where this radio came from but I assume it was with the car I'm driving not a 1988 750il since the radio code was with the manuel and on the radio in the car but it was in my sisters 525i at once but my retarded brother got tape stuck in it years ago and I found it in the garage. I decided to take the tape out by taking the top of the radio off, that worked but now when I hooked it up it doesnt play or change between fm am or the cd player it just shows a 1 on the screen of the radio any ideas?
If you have a 20 year old BMW radio, I'd definitely go aftermarket. The radios slide right in, you can get an adapter wiring harness for under 20 bucks, and have WAY more features, power, etc.

Yeah, its definitely hard to match the color of the dash, that's why I have my stock radio out in my toolbox, for if/when I trade it off. But for the whole time I am driving the car, color doesnt matter to me, my Premier radio is blue, ,imagine that in an orange-ish dash, lol:
